Press Release – 20/12/2016
Mounties RLFC / Emu Plains JRLFC Supporting Partnership In another historic step in the support of grass roots rugby league Mounties RLFC and Emu Plains JRLFC have entered into a supporting arrangement for the 2017 season which will see players from Mounties turn out for the foot of the mountains club in what is seen as an initial step in the breaking down of borders between the Parramatta and Penrith JRL districts. Mounties, having fielded strong teams in the NSWRL administered Sydney Shield, Ron Massey Cup and Intrust Super Premiership competitions for the past 10 seasons have entered into an agreement with Emu Plains to send players not required for their senior teams on a given weekend to the Emu Plains club to compete in the burgeoning Penrith A Grade competition. Seeing the need to have players at the ready and with Emu Plains shaping up as a strong title contender in 2017, the clubs sought each other out to discuss the possibility of entering into a supporting agreement and after lengthy discussions which included the NSWRL, Penrith and Parramatta Junior Rugby League districts an agreement has been reached and will come into effect for the coming season. Both clubs are excited about the prospects the arrangement will bring and Mounties looks forward to the 2017 season and this new venture. -ENDS -
